To expand on all that, I must start at the beginning...
I was raised in a Christian family with typical family struggles. My Dad worked away from home for a large chunk of my childhood and that was tough...
Life has taken many unexpected twists and turns to get to this point - many as a result of my own stupid choices :-(
At 19, life seemed ideal - I knew what I wanted to do with my life (work with Deaf kids) and I was on track to make that a reality when I moved from Canada to MN to attend NCU. After being in school for 2 years, I made a whopper of a bad choice... I fell for the typical myth that if I got married, I wouldn't need a degree - I could be a SAHM and life would continue to be wonderful. That may have been true if my choice had been better...
Suffice it to say that life became unbearable - I found myself trapped in an abusive relationship, in the US illegally, and soon after - pregnant. I thank God daily for seeing safely through that rough time and for blessing me with a wonderful son in spite of my awful situation.
The next 7 years were spent struggling.... struggling to get my immigration paperwork, to be a good single mom, to build a life for my son and I... But the struggling was so worth it!
During that time I learned so much... about myself, but more importantly about God...
Now as I sit here, I count my MANY blessings... A house that I got to help build with the people I care about most, A business that allows me to be a SAHM, and the biggest blessing is pretty recent... My new hubby, David, who God brought into our lives at just the right time!! I am SO BLESSSED!!
